030-365 Dutch Oven Pot Pie

Today I had Girl Scout Training for Camping. It never got over 30 degrees. I froze my tush off, but had a good time bonding with other fellow campers. Our group chose to make Chicken Pot Pie. I had a minor mishap, and had to make an extra morning grocery stop to pick up more of the forgotten chicken.

I had to drive to Oak Cliff for a Girl Scout Camping Class. The clouds looked pretty neat. This one had a spot of Rainbow on it.

024 - 365 Texas Torndaos

Tonight was Scout night at the Texas Tornados. The kids enjoyed watching the hockey game with their friends. Alison and Emily really liked meeting the dance team.

023 -365 Lamp in Ali's Room

Today was our Family Fun Day. We were going to go on a bike ride but it was overcast and rainy. We decided to head to the pool at the gym instead. The kids had fun there. Alison is glad that she is able to do the waterslides there. (The City Pools have height requirements that will take her forever to reach)

On the way home we witnessed a car accidetn. Craig and I were the first out to help the two cars involved. Everyone was ok, but the accident could have been really bad. Each car had 3 kids in it, and one of the cars was pushed way up into the median hitting a light pole.

After we got home, we watched the Muppet Movie and Ella Enchanted.

Tonight we attended a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had fun, Craig and I liked watching them have fun. After we got home, the kids went to bed and we had a nice dinner and movie.

Gorgeous bird that I spotted while driving to pick Patrick up from school. He flew in low in front of my car and landed in a tree beside the road. I stopped thinking that I would only be able to grab one shot before he flew away. Instead he sat still watching me, then he started cleaning his feathers like I was not even there. If I clicked at him or talked he stopped to look at me. I could not believe how close I was able to get to him.

Trying to figure out what kind of bird he is. My first thought was a young Red Tailed Hawk, but what do I know.

 

 

020 - 365 Knot Hole

Sitting on the patio with a book. This is a knot hole in the fence right in my line of sight. I love my patio.

019 - 365 Crazy Cat Eyes

Today was my first day of "let's see if there is anything on the camera". I did not have anything worth mentioning. Here is the best I have to offer. I hope to have better camera time tomorrow.

018 - 365 Sunset and the Creek

The kids and I had the whole day together. We went to the gym. We played the Wii. We got out to sell Girlscout Cookies and we watched the sunset on the creek by our house.

I was watching the gulls on the creek, I always wondered why they don't just flip over and crash after a move like this....

Little did I know that a walk on the creek today was going to end in a discussion today with the kids on the Birds and the.... Birds. I had to step in when Patrick was telling Alison that the duck must be mad and going to kill her. I ended up letting them both know that they were getting ready to be mom and dad to some eggs. Alison took it at that. I can tell Patrick is going to have more questions, soon.

017 - 365 Dandelion

The weather was awesome today. We had the windows open the kids got to play outside. The grass and plants think it is spring. We still have a few frosts in the future, but the Dandelions do not care.

016 - 365 Pinewood Derby

We spent the morning at the races, Pinewood Derby Races that is. Patrick got a trophy for "Wicked Wheels" He is pretty proud of it.

015 - 365 Fossil

I am ready for my garden to start growing again until then I have to look at rocks and fossils. This is one we found while camping.

014 - 365 Pinewood Derby Cars

The Derby Race is this weekend. Craig was able to help get the cars finished before he left town. Patrick was able to help quite a bit this year, he even got to use the saw. They both did their own painting. I think everyone will be able to tell whose is whose.

Dyson and Hayley came over for a bit today to visit.

 Alison loves taking care of Baby Dalton.

 

 Patrick is also great with the baby, they all love to hold and play with him.

 

013 - 365 Kickball with Friends

It is supposed to rain Thursday and Friday this week, so we are getting as much outside time in as possible. Today we played at the park by the school again. The kids found a ball by the baseball diamond and spent over an hour playing kickball.

012 - 365 Madalynn with Leaves

We played at the park Tuesday after school. Madalynn loves having her picture taken almost as much as Alison.

011 - 365 Fire

I was called in to sub today. After school and homework, we spent the day making Pinewood Derby cars. I did not even get the camera out until after the kids were in bed. After all of the ice this week, I decided to play with fire. Not to shabby. I may have to see what else I can come up with in the future.

010 - 365 Icy Creek

We were under the freezing point for 52 hours this past week. That was long enough for the Chisholm Creek to freeze by the school. It was funny watching the Seagulls slipping along as they tried to walk or land on it.
